How It Works

How It Works

Step 1: CHOOSE
Browse our well-stocked shelves and select a piece (or two!) to paint. We now have over 200 different items from which to choose! Items can range in price anywhere from $10 to $80. Don't see exactly what you're looking for? Just ask, and we can try to special-order it just for you!

Step 2: DESIGN
Now it's time to plan the design you'll paint! You can sketch your own design if you're artistic, but if you're not - don't worry - neither are we! We have tons of stencils stamps, masking tapes, contact paper and other fun ideas to make it easy for you! We also have sample pieces painted in the studio and lots of pictures in the gallery to give you ideas!

Step 3: PAINT
Next, you select the paint colors that you will use to embellish the unfinished pottery. You can draw inspiration from within or kick start your creativity by looking through some of our examples from other artists.  We also have a large assortment of specialty glazes. All of our glazes are non-toxic, food-safe and water soluble so it won't be a problem if your little ones (or you) get messy!

Step 4: GO FOR IT!
Paint to your heart's content! There's no limit on how many colors of paint you can use or how much time you can spend!  Should you need assistance, we are always glad to help!

Step 5: GLAZING & FIRING
Once you are satisfied with your design, then it is time for us to take your painted piece, where we allow it to dry completely.  We will apply a food-safe overglaze for you and fire your masterpeice in our on-site kiln, which brings out its vivid color and shine. This process make take a few days, to ensure the end result is an exciting and personal item that you can be proud to display or present as a gift to someone special.
Return to the studio in 1 week to pick up your completed masterpiece!
